Hey Friends and Readers!
Recently I became involved with a new website. Photofable a site to share your view of the world. Your adventures at home and abroad. If your planning at trip, just had one or are just curious about other places in the world from people who have been there, go check out the site.

So far its early days and there will be much more added in the near future but were off to a roaring start! There's a really great group of individuals involved that all have a passion for travelling, story telling and photography. Very much looking forward to the on coming work with the photofable crew.

2011 has so far been a crazy ride and a great time. Full of planes, trains and automobiles. I'm currently Turkey as Media Liasion for Team Australia for the World Universaide Winter Games having an absolute blast.

3 days ago the British National Guild of Photographers announced their list for their 2010 Photographers of the Year and to my surprise I came out ranked 5th in the non-wedding Photographer category. Something I was not expecting considering I was only accepted into the Guild in August.

Really am quite chuffed!

Hey all!
Lately I've been sitting down and sorting through the photo archives in an attempt to put them in some sort of manageable order. Which turns out is a much more difficult feat to accomplished than I first thought but I am coming across some un-used and sometimes forgotten photo's that I'll throw up here to share.

First off, the man and legend we call The Skud but some know him as Darin Shapiro:

Welcome to a preview of the bane and passion of my existence for the past week an a half. I'm so happy to say: The paint work is done! but before it some how all goes wrong again I'd thought I'd share. Honestly this skate fought me every step of the way, everything went wrong, but its done now. The paint is still drying, then a few coast of varnish will need to go on, which will help even out the colours. It isn't as clean as I would like it, but in order to do that I'd have to start again and that just ain't going to happen. haha.

I’m on day 3, well technically 2.5, of a little art project for a good friend. Painting up a wakeskate. So far, not including drying times, I probably have 4 hours into it and have only just got to the base coats.

I do enjoy these little board based creative endeavors, but waiting for paint to dry can be testing on the most patient of people, so to pass some time as the black paint goes from tacky to solid I thought I’d post up a few boards I’ve done in the past. Then I’m off to the Pub. Hopefully it’ll be dry by the time I get home with the creative juices flowing.

Singapore

So here I am about to leave Singapore, off to Aus. It was a smashing time, this will always be a country I’ll enjoy being in but unfortunately as it turns out the rain season is very rainy and my time here was plagued by precipitation. Making it very difficult on the photography front. I wanted to capture more of the local culture, life and charm but the rain saw to the end of that plan.

I’m not complaining though because at least its warm rain, which is a HUGE step up from where I just was, and everyone kept a smile on their face and a cheery attitude no matter where you went. Such beautiful people here with such a positive outlook on life. Even just talking with the taxi drivers would end up in some profound life happiness monologue, I wish I recorded some of them to share with you all. And having the down time being spent as VIP at the Shangri-La on Sentosa Island, thanks to an old friend of the family, made it very difficult to be upset about anything in life.

The rain did stop long enough to jump on a bum-boat and snag some scenic shots to throw up here, the light was far from ideal but I thought I’d share them with you anyways with a couple others I took between the showers.

All in all it was a fantastic time, spent a couple evenings with some absolute legends hearing stories of old over a few wines and beers and some gorgeous foods. I did hit up the local cable and even through all the rain had a ball of a time riding there! Everyone there is super friendly, a very international group of shredders, right on the beach in a state park. Has an amazing atmosphere there.

And somehow through all the cloud cover I managed to become sun-burnt, oh this English skin.

Off to Aus now!

Furniture Tetris

Its that time of year where I have to pack up and move on. Fortunately I have a storage unit here in Orlando to keep my stuff in, but there is much to go in it and not all that much space, so begins the fierce game of Furniture Tetris. This was just the start, a lot more went in including a mini van.

Its sad to be leaving but I am pretty excited to eventually be in a country I like to call my other home, it's an Island in the Pacific call Australia, you may of heard of it. Such a wonderful country full great people and just epicness. So much of that country is simply breath taking. Before that a quick 4 week stop off in soggy England, so my Blog updates may take a break during this time due to internet availability.

Today was the first day of the WWA World Championship held in the wakeboard motherland of Orlando. Day one had the Junior Pro Mens take their turn on the water. Here are some captured moments of good friend and Byerlys newest rider, Mitch Langfield winning his heat.

A tribute to a phone and old friend.

To some you may just see an old phone but today we celebrate the life of a true treasure.

From Cheers to Chunder she has been my faithful companion for 6 long and chaoticly fun years.

From times in the gutter to times on the podium she's been there. Through the years she has let me hear the voices of true friends, love and even some real nob-jockeys. She's accompanied me from huge metropolises to third world slums, from hospitals stays to days at the lake. flown on planes and out of car windows, lost in hotel rooms and buried in the mud yet she always came back to be my trusty sidekick and keep me connected with this crazy world.

She's been the messenger of good news, bad news and some terrible ideas that have lead to great times. An instigator of chaos and an emergency life line.

Today we see the end of a phone that simply was so much more.

You will be missed dear friend.

First blog! Not really too sure what I'm doing here, so I'll just start off with how my morning went:

Today I had the pleasure of shooting a sunrise set with Keaton Bowlby and Jenny Danger Gilanfarr. This is the first time I've seen Keaton ride and was really quite impressed with his abilities and Jenny shredded as always. Here are some shots of the action.
